How to transfer the date and time of camcorder to a VCR or Computer?

This question is really confusing and many people are asking for this so here is the correct answer into this question. You know, it really depends on the type of the camcorder that you are using. The date and time stamp information can only be transferred through an Audio/Video (A/V) connection or an i.LINK connection.

These are the types of camcorders that can output date and time information through an i.LINK connection DV, MICROMV, MiniDV, HDV, and Digital8. The DVD, Hi8,
8mm, and Hard Disk Drive camcorders are for Audio Video (A/V) connection.

In able for you to transfer the videos in a computer or vcr, the camcorder must be in the playback mode and the time and date must be displayed on the camcorder LCD screen or viewfinder. In computer connection, date and time information cannot be transferred using a USB cable. All DVDs recorded with a Sony DVD Handycam camcorder will not display the date and time information when played in a computer. In present time, there is no editing software that can modify or utilize the data code information.
